At Crossview Church of Christ, we understand that the Church is not a building or a place, but a living, breathing community of believers united by their faith in Jesus Christ. Here’s what Church means to us:
A Family of Believers: The Church is a family where everyone is welcome. We come together from different backgrounds and walks of life, united by our common faith in Jesus Christ. As a family, we support, encourage, and care for one another, building strong relationships grounded in love and mutual respect.
The Body of Christ: We believe the Church is the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). Each member plays a vital role, and together we work to fulfill God’s purpose. Just as a body has many parts that function together, we too use our diverse gifts and talents to serve one another and our community.
An Assembly of Worshippers: The word "church" itself comes from the Greek word ekklesia, which means "called out to come to the assembly." Church is also coming together to worship God, individually and collectively. Worship is not confined to a specific time or place, it is a way of life (Romans 12:1). Through worship, we express our love, gratitude, and devotion to God, recognizing His sovereignty and grace.
A Community of Discipleship: Discipleship is at the heart of our church. We are committed to growing in our faith and helping others do the same. Through Bible study, prayer, and mentoring, we strive to become more like Christ and to help others on their spiritual journey (Colossians 1:28-29).
A Hub of Fellowship: Fellowship is a core aspect of our church life. We follow the example of the early Christians who devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42). Our fellowship extends beyond Sunday services, fostering deep and meaningful connections in our everyday lives.
A Mission-Focused Community: We embrace the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). Our mission is to share the love and message of Jesus Christ with others, both locally and globally. We engage in various outreach efforts, serving those in need and spreading the hope of the Gospel.
An Assembly of Servants: Following Jesus’ example of servant leadership (Matthew 20:28), we are dedicated to serving others. Church is also a gathering of servants actively engaged in acts of kindness, compassion, and justice. We believe that serving others is a powerful expression of our faith and a way to make a positive impact in our community and beyond.
A Sanctuary of Hope and Healing: Church is a sanctuary where people can find hope, healing, and restoration. We are committed to being a community of disciples of Jesus where individuals can experience God’s love, receive support in times of need, and find encouragement to overcome life’s challenges.
