At Crossview Church of Christ, our beliefs are rooted in the teachings of the Bible and the example of Jesus Christ. We strive to live out our faith in a way that honors God and serves others. Here’s an overview of what we believe:
The Bible: We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, serving as our ultimate guide for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is through Scripture that we learn about God's will, His love for us, and His plan for salvation.
God: We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). God is the creator of all things, and His nature is holy, loving, and just (Deuteronomy 6:4 1 John 4:8).
Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was sent to Earth to save humanity from sin (John 3:16). He was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14 Matthew 1:23), lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), died on the cross for our sins (1 Peter 2:24), and rose from the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Jesus is the only way to salvation (John 14:6), and through Him, we can have a personal relationship with God (John 1:12).
Salvation: We believe that salvation is a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is not earned by our efforts but is given by God's grace. Through repentance and baptism, we enter into a new life in Christ, being forgiven of our sins and filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
The Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer, guiding, empowering, and transforming us to live in accordance with God's will (John 14:26 Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit also equips us with spiritual gifts to serve the church and the world (1 Corinthians 12:4-7).
The Church: We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers worldwide (1 Corinthians 12:12-13). At Crossview Church of Christ, we are a local expression of this body, committed to worshiping God, growing in our faith, and reaching out to others with the love of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13).
Baptism: We believe that baptism by immersion is an essential step of obedience for every believer (Matthew 28:19 Romans 6:3-4). It symbolizes our identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and it marks the beginning of our new life in Him.
Communion: We believe in regularly observing the Lord's Supper (Communion) as a reminder of Jesus' sacrifice and a celebration of our unity in Him (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). It is a time to reflect on His love, remember His death, and anticipate His return.
Mission: We believe in the Great Commission, which calls us to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). We are committed to sharing the Gospel, serving those in need, and living out our faith in tangible ways. Our mission is to love God, love people, and make disciples.
Love and Community: We believe that love is the foundation of our faith (Matthew 22:37-39). We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. At Crossview Church of Christ, we are dedicated to building a loving and supportive community where everyone can grow in their relationship with God and each other (John 13:34-35).
